    Cosmetic Botox

Many patients choose Botox to gently relax wrinkle-causing muscles and achieve a more youthful, refreshed look. We can strategically place a few small injections to target common areas of concern:

    Forehead Lines

Soften the horizontal lines that form when you raise your eyebrows.

    Forehead Lines (11's)

Reduce the vertical lines between your eyebrows that can make you look stern or tired

    Crow's Feet

Minimize the crinkle lines at the corners of your eyes when you smile or squint.

    Bunny Lines & Lip Lines

In some cases, we can address fine lines on the nose or around the lips, which can complement dental cosmetic work.

By relaxing the underlying muscles in these areas, the skin lies flatter and wrinkles either disappear or become much less noticeable. The result is a smoother, younger-looking complexion. One nice aspect of doing this at your dental office is that we understand facial aesthetics in relation to your smile; for instance, we can use Botox to slightly adjust a high lip line (gummy smile) so your smile shows less gum tissue. The changes are subtle and natural – you will still look like you, just with softer lines. It’s a great finishing touch if you’ve had cosmetic dental treatments and want your overall look to be youthful and polished.

    Therapeutic Botox

Beyond cosmetics, Botox has valuable uses for dental patients:

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and jaw pain

Botox injections into overactive jaw muscles, such as the masseter and temporalis, can ease symptoms of TMJ disorder, muscle tension, and bruxism by reducing muscle pressure and tension. This helps alleviate jaw pain, headaches, and protects teeth from excessive grinding forces without affecting normal facial expressions or chewing ability.

    Chronic headaches

Tension headaches or certain migraines that stem from muscle strain (often related to the jaw or forehead) can sometimes be alleviated with Botox therapy. By reducing muscle contractions in trigger areas, patients often experience fewer or less intense headaches.

    High lip line (gummy smile)

Some people show a lot of gum tissue when they smile due to hyperactive upper lip muscles. A small amount of Botox can relax those muscles just enough so the upper lip doesn’t lift quite as high, thereby showing less gum. The effect can be a more balanced, aesthetically pleasing smile line.

The Botox Procedure and Why a Dental Office?

The Botox procedure is quick and straightforward. We use a very fine needle to inject precise amounts of the botulinum toxin into targeted muscles. Discomfort is minimal – most say it feels like a little pinch, if anything. The number of injections depends on the areas being treated (for example, treating frown lines may require a few small injections). A Botox appointment typically takes only 10–20 minutes. There’s no significant downtime; you can return to work or your daily routine right after, with only a few minor precautions (for example, don’t rub the treated area for the rest of the day, and remain upright for a few hours).
The effects of Botox develop gradually over 5–14 days following treatment, and the results typically last about 3–4 months. After that, the muscle action will slowly return, and wrinkles or symptoms may reappear, at which point you can choose to have another treatment. Over time, with repeated treatments, some muscles may become less responsive, potentially extending the intervals between sessions.
Why get Botox at a dental office?
Dentists are highly trained in the anatomy of the head and neck. We give injections daily (for anesthesia), so we have a gentle touch and precision technique. We also view Botox as part of a comprehensive approach to improving your well-being – whether it’s feeling better about your appearance or reducing pain to improve your quality of life. Our patients often love the convenience of addressing these concerns during a dental visit, and they trust us, as healthcare providers, to administer Botox safely.
